Cincinnati Bengals Eye Maxx Crosby Trade Amid Defensive Overhaul

The Cincinnati Bengals are actively exploring trade options to enhance their defense ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Earlier this offseason, the Bengals showed interest in acquiring superstar pass-rusher Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. Although a deal was initially in the works, it ultimately fell through when Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. Recently, the Bengals shifted their focus to New York Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, successfully trading for him by giving up the No. 10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Despite the Bengals' previous interest in Crosby, reports indicate that two other teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers, are currently pursuing him. While the Bengals have not renewed their interest in Crosby, the possibility remains as they have a history of keeping trade talks under wraps until finalizing deals. Crosby has expressed his commitment to the Raiders, but analysts suggest that if the Raiders struggle early in the season, a trade could be back on the table. If acquired, Crosby could significantly bolster the Bengals' defense alongside new addition Boye Mafe, creating a formidable edge-rushing duo. However, Crosby is currently recovering from a meniscus injury, which may impact his availability for the upcoming season.
